The new western land and sea corridor allows Thai durians to enter the Chinese market on the "express train".
Loaded with about 500 tons of fresh Thai durians in the Lao-Thai cold chain direct cross-border test train 11 successfully arrived in Chongqing City, Jiangjin District, Xiaonan Ya station, which is the first time that the Thai durians through the western land and sea new corridor railroad train from the outside of China directly to the west of China's Chengdu-Chongqing region. Compared with the traditional cold chain transportation between Thailand and Chongqing before, this transportation mode further shortens the time for fresh Thai durians to enter the Chongqing market.

"This batch of fresh durians was sent from Thailand on the 7th and arrived in Chongqing in just four days." Wang Yihua, head of the marketing department of Chongqing International Logistics Group, said that Chongqing used to import durians from Thailand by sea or rail transit, but the cold chain transportation is a "road + rail" intermodal transportation mode, which is directly delivered to Chongqing after customs clearance from abroad, further improving the efficiency of bilateral logistics and transportation.
"For fruit importers, time is money, every hour is critical, 'durian special train' effectively shorten the time cost by more than 50%." Deng Haoji, Chief Operating Officer of Chongqing Hongjiu Fruit Company, introduced.

At the same time, bilateral long-term foreign trade business subjects also further enjoy the policy "dividends".
Deng Haoji said, multiple trade policy benefits superimposed, so that foreign trade enterprises really realize the cost reduction and efficiency, which means that the fresher Thai durian can enter the Chinese market at a cheaper price.
